They consider the possibility of web-based infection by far the biggest issue when browsing the internet during working hours, even compared with other related phenomena such as lower work productivity, capacity overload or sensitive data leakage. The survey conducted among Czech and Slovak sales partners of GFI and Kerio confirmed that, in the area of IT security, web connection protection is the second most underestimated area, right after email protection. According to the IT administrators surveyed, infected websites are also the second most common channel through which malicious software, including ransomware, penetrates corporate networks. **Key findings of the GFI & Kerio survey:** - Corporate web access security is underestimated according to 37% of the IT administrators surveyed. - IT administrators are most concerned about users accessing unsecured websites (73%), followed by lower productivity at 33%, capacity overload at 20% and sensitive data leakage at 13%; - For protection reasons, they most often block access to adult websites (74%), social networks (68%) and gaming websites (55%). Conversely, news servers are blocked only minimally (3%), while 19% do not block any websites. - According to 81% of IT administrators, company security is most threatened by user carelessness, followed by insufficient security provided by IT tools (52%), cyberattacks (35%) and IT failures (29%). “Four fifths of our partners see careless users as the greatest threat to IT security,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia**. “If companies allow their employees access to the corporate web connection, they should secure it more thoroughly with security tools.
