The survey was conducted in January 2023 among resellers of **ZEBRA SYSTEMS**, the exclusive distributor of Acronis solutions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Southeastern Europe. The survey revealed that the risk of ransomware attacks continues to grow and is becoming the primary threat to organizations of all types and sizes. Although only a minimum of IT providers encountered the worst-case scenario—paying a ransom—more than half had to restore lost data or strengthen IT security for their customers as a result of attacks. Meanwhile, 45% of respondents predict that one of the main security measures against attacks this year will be the deployment or strengthening of Disaster Recovery systems. The most interesting survey findings include: - 35% of resellers stated that, among all security incidents, ransomware attacks were the ones they dealt with most often last year, followed by lost emails at 26% and DDoS attacks at 12%. - The most common consequence of these incidents was the restoration of lost data (41% of respondents) and increased investment in IT security (16%). Paying a ransom was admitted by 3% of respondents, while 36% experienced no significant consequences from the attacks. - Among the key security measures, respondents identified user training (68%), eliminating software vulnerabilities (62%), and investing in Disaster Recovery solutions (47%). “What IT security experts have long warned about, including here in our country, has arrived: ransomware attacks have taken the top spot among the most common security incidents,” said **Aleš Hok, Sales Director at ZEBRA SYSTEMS.** “A large proportion of our partners and customers have understood these risks and are building comprehensive, multi-layered protection for their IT infrastructures.
