The survey shows that 83% of Czech companies and organizations are most concerned about technical failures in connection with the loss of important business data. They most often need to back up physical servers, but the share of virtualized infrastructure backups is growing rapidly. Key findings from the local survey: - Czech companies and organizations are concerned about failures or damage to their equipment (83%), user carelessness (78%), and malware and ransomware attacks (61%) in connection with the loss of business data; - Companies most often address backups of physical servers (72%), workstations (51%), VMware virtualization (49%), and Hyper-V virtualization (44%); - Currently, 88% of business customers prefer on-premises backup solutions, while 12% prefer the cloud; - They perceive ransomware threats (77%) and social media threats (39%) as the riskiest trends of this year; “In 2016 alone, ransomware caused damage worth $1 billion and has undoubtedly become the number one threat today,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets.** “Because attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and target not only standard corporate data but also its backups and the backup systems themselves, it will become increasingly important for backup solutions to include active ransomware protection.
