The full implementation of the Acronis security package will replace the original on-premise solution based on antivirus protection. The solution was deployed and is managed by **Digitální strážce**, an Acronis Gold Partner. The Acronis Advanced Security + EDR cloud service includes URL filtering, antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, patch management and vulnerability assessment. The solution will provide not only a higher level of security for the company's infrastructure, but also reports such as antivirus scan results and other documentation required by the NIS-2 directive. As one of the larger companies, UNIKOM is among the organizations that will be required to meet the requirements of the NIS-2 directive, both due to its turnover and its position as a wholesale supplier. Compliance with the directive will require stronger technical measures to ensure cybersecurity than the company had at the time. UNIKOM has been using the **Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud** platform for several years, using its **Advanced Backup** package to back up all company data from server devices to a secure cloud. Backup with the Acronis solution proved to be very prudent, as just a few months after deployment, a ransomware attack and data encryption occurred at one branch, and the data was very easily restored from the Acronis cloud. “Several years ago, we needed to address data protection in our company in the event of a local disaster, which could have resulted in irreversible data loss,” said **Otto Moravec, IT technician at UNIKOM.** “We therefore began working with Digitální strážce, which offered us and successfully deployed the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform. What is great is that this platform now also integrates useful security features, including endpoint protection (EDR), which are important both for increasing our security and for complying with the NIS-2 standard.” In addition to security packages, the company also uses the **Advanced Management** service for hardware monitoring and remote management. In the future, it may consider deploying Advanced Disaster Recovery, which makes it possible to immediately run the required applications from the cloud in the event of a physical server failure. **About UNIKOM** UNIKOM Kutná Hora is a joint-stock company operating in the Central Bohemian Region.
