Acronis Disk Director uses the technologically advanced Acronis AnyData Engine solution. Acronis Disk Director 12 is the latest step in the long evolution of the Disk Director product family. It offers a range of new features that will help computer users organize their hard disks for peak performance while protecting and securing user data through multiple volumes on a single disk. “Since its launch 13 years ago, Acronis Disk Director has become a leading disk management tool and remains an essential utility for technical users who want to have a comprehensive solution for managing disk partitions and manipulating data at their disposal,” said Nat Maple, Vice President at Acronis. “However, data protection needs have changed dramatically over the past decade. Because most computers today are delivered with a single hard disk containing one large disk partition, creating separate logical disk partitions for the operating system and users’ personal data is a basic available form of data protection, protecting user data in the event of an operating system problem or malware infection. Thanks to extensive technological development, Acronis Disk Director 12 has been designed to meet today’s market requirements and operating system needs. Users can confidently manage their hard disks without the risk of data loss and have the assurance that they are using the most comprehensive disk management and data manipulation solution available on the market today.” The core support libraries of Acronis Disk Director 12 were developed at Acronis Labs, Acronis’s research and development center for advanced technologies, which was founded in 2013 by Acronis CEO Sergei Beloussov to create next-generation data protection technologies. Key features of Acronis Disk Director 12 include: **Disk partition management.** Users can merge, split, resize, copy or move disk partitions, maximizing disk utilization without data loss. Users can also quickly change the structure of their hard disk. **New! Extended Windows support.** Support for the latest versions of Windows (8 and 8.1), as well as older versions including XP. Our customers can also download and use the latest version of Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment 5.0 tools and take advantage of the latest Microsoft tools, such as Windows Assessment or Deployment Kit for Windows 8 or 8.1. **New! Support across** **BIOS technologies.** Support for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface)-based computers extends support beyond BIOS-based personal computers and ensures full functionality regardless of PC type, making Acronis Disk Director 12 accessible to all Windows users. Users can create bootable Acronis media (based on Linux or Windows PE) and boot into the recovery environment on a UEFI-based computer. **Enhanced recovery capabilities with the built-in Acronis Recovery Expert tool.** In the event of hardware or software failure, users can recover their computer from a partition on their hard disk or create a disk that can revive the system. Acronis Recovery Expert is an easy-to-use tool that enables users to recover disk volumes on a basic MBR disk that were accidentally deleted or damaged due to a failure. **Availability and pricing:** Acronis Disk Director 12 is now available for sale. The recommended retail price of the [full version is CZK 1,137 including VAT](http://shop.backup-store.cz/disk-director-12.html); owners of all previous versions can take advantage of an [upgrade for CZK 852 including VAT](http://shop.backup-store.cz/disk-director-12-upgrade.html).
