This follows from a survey the company conducted among Czech users at the Acronis Roadshow 2017 conferences in Ostrava and Prague, compared with the same survey last year. At this year's conferences, users and providers of Acronis solutions had the opportunity to learn about the latest versions of Acronis solutions, including the solutions announced this year: Acronis Backup 12.5 with Acronis Active Protection, the Acronis Data Cloud platform for service providers, and the Acronis Access Advanced 8.0 data-sharing solution. There has recently been growing interest in solutions for sharing and accessing corporate data, primarily due to the approaching effective date of the GDPR regulation. The survey conducted by Acronis at the conferences showed:\ • Over the next 5 years, according to participants, the biggest IT threats will come from ransomware (64%), the Internet of Things trend (47%), and social networks (39%);\ • Among additional features in backup software, users would most appreciate ransomware protection (60%) and the option to archive data (28%).\ • 59% of companies prefer backing up corporate data to local storage, 8% to the cloud, and the remaining 33% use a hybrid approach;\ • In the next 12 months, 45% of Czech businesses are considering deploying a data backup solution, 17% a data-sharing and synchronization solution, and 15% a disaster recovery solution; “This year's Acronis Roadshow conferences showed that more and more Czech businesses take data protection seriously,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “There is traditionally interest not only in data backup and recovery, but we are also seeing increased demand for solutions for the secure sharing and synchronization of corporate data.
