According to the survey, nearly half of the organizations surveyed (45%) are concerned about uncontrolled access to sensitive corporate information from mobile devices, very often personal ones (BYOD), which leads to increased security risks. Czech companies are therefore looking for ways to secure their data while maintaining the high productivity enabled by mobile devices. According to current estimates, the number of smartphone users worldwide has exceeded 2 billion, and for several years the number of smartphones has been higher than the number of personal computers. This creates an entirely new situation in the area of sharing business documents and makes it necessary to consider strengthening corporate data security. This is particularly important given that 90% of employees use their personal smartphones for work, often with minimal security. Key survey findings: - In the area of data sharing, Czech companies are mainly troubled by the lack of clarity and fragmentation of information (54%), the absence of a security policy for data management (53%), uncontrolled access from various devices (45%), and storing data in external repositories such as Dropbox or Google Drive (23%). - When using BYOD devices, they are primarily concerned about the theft or leakage of sensitive data (73%) and malware infection (54%). - When looking for suitable data-sharing solutions, they place the greatest emphasis on security (63%), employee productivity (58%), and easy solution administration (50%), while placing less emphasis on meeting regulatory requirements (19%). “A properly selected solution for sharing corporate data, with support for any endpoint device, provides a rapid return on investment thanks to quick access to the required data and better decision-making,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets**. “However, it must also ensure a high level of security for key data.
