Other activities that threaten corporate data include using public Wi-Fi networks, access from BYOD devices, and storage in public repositories such as Dropbox. With the rapid growth of mobility and the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of channels through which sensitive corporate data can be accessed is expanding. Attackers can then misuse this data for ransomware attacks, attacks using spoofed emails (BEC), or the forgery of documents such as contracts or invoices. The survey conducted by Acronis at customer conferences shows that: - From the perspective of access to corporate documents, participants consider storage on USB drives (42%), use of public Wi-Fi (30%), access from BYOD devices (17%), and storage in public repositories such as Dropbox (11%) to be the riskiest behavior; - Among corporate data, attackers are most interested in passwords (74% of participants), financial data (32%), emails (30%), and personnel data (28%); - The main requirements for a corporate document-sharing solution include security (78%), access from anywhere (70%), and clear document versioning (31%). “Traditional data protection alone is no longer sufficient to meet the security requirements of corporate data resources,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia**. “Important data must also be protected with cybersecurity tools, which is why we place solutions combining both approaches in the ‘cyber protection’ segment.
