According to the Forrester Wave report for the first quarter of this year, the Cloudflare DDoS solution achieved the highest possible score in 15 criteria, including threat detection, protection against wave attacks, deployment speed, product vision, performance, response automation and security operations centers. In total, the **[Forrester Q1 report](https://www.cloudflare.com/forrester-wave-ddos-mitigation-2021/)** evaluated 11 vendors across 28 criteria, including current offering, strategy and market presence. Cloudflare's global network includes more than 200 data centers in over 100 countries worldwide, with each data center helping customers mitigate DDoS attacks. With a capacity of 59 Tb/s, this network is capable of blocking an average of 57 billion cyber threats every day, including the largest DDoS attacks in history. The first quarter of 2021 saw a dramatic increase in DDoS attacks, which, alongside ransomware, currently represent the main threat to business and operational continuity for many organizations. Websites in the Czech Republic have not escaped problems related to DDoS attacks or operational overload: - Last week, a targeted **[massive attack against Slavia Prague football club](https://www.sport.cz/fotbal/ceska-1-liga/clanek/2290217-alarm-cileny-utok-proti-ceskym-klubum.html)** and other Czech clubs was recorded, taking their websites offline. - At the beginning of April, an attack by unknown hackers caused the data network of the **[Olomouc City Hall](https://www.idnes.cz/olomouc/zpravy/olomouc-magistrat-utok-hackeru-datova-sit-kolaps.A210407_175516_olomouc-zpravy_stk)** to be shut down, paralyzing the office's operations. - In March, programs attempting to automatically secure appointments overloaded the **[COVID vaccination booking system](https://www.idnes.cz/zpravy/domaci/covid-system-ockovani-pretizeni.A210303_155903_domaci_baky).** - Similarly, the websites of the **[Ministry of the Interior and the police](https://www.novinky.cz/internet-a-pc/clanek/nefunguji-weby-policie-ani-ministerstva-vnitra-jsou-pretizene-40352657)** collapsed under the influx of visitors seeking information about new emergency measures against the spread of coronavirus. “This year, we have witnessed many failures of web infrastructures, including the vaccination booking system, census forms and, last but not least, an increasing number of dangerous DDoS attacks,” said **Michal Hebeda, Sales Engineer at ZEBRA SYSTEMS**. “The common denominator of all these issues is an underestimation of the critical importance of internet systems and their security.
