Data stored in the archive provides authentic and indisputable evidence in ongoing court, administrative, or other proceedings. **D.A.S.** provides legal protection insurance to private individuals and business entities across all industries. Based on the insurance policies concluded, it provides its customers with legal protection, from resolving fines to representation in complex court cases. The company employs approximately 130 staff members and around 70 external sales representatives, who use email for intensive communication with customers. Each quarter, approximately 90 GB of data flows through the company in more than 300,000 emails, with a total of 3 TB of data archived in the form of email. The information contained in these emails is searched when, for example, exact wording needs to be retrieved even 10 years back in connection with ongoing legal disputes. The company previously archived its emails in PST files and also used backups for this purpose. With the archiving solution, the company is assured that all email is retained in GFI Archiver in the form in which it arrived at or left the company. This provides support especially in cases where there are disputed positions, and data from GFI Archiver serves as evidence of specific communication. Another advantage of GFI Archiver is the ability to restore a mailbox if users accidentally delete or move email and subsequently cannot find it. “Before GFI Archiver, we retained emails in backed-up PST files, but backup is not the same as archiving – for example, there is no point in retaining backups going back 10 years,” said **Stanislav Telipský, IT Administrator at D.A.S.** “A specialized archiving tool such as GFI Archiver is a great help, particularly when a specific email needs to be found quickly.
