PILANA Knives uses fax infrastructure as one of its important communication tools because it exports more than 97% of its production worldwide, and particularly in Western European countries, there is still a strong tradition of business communication via fax messages. The company operated 10 fax machines from various brands for both incoming and outgoing messages, and managing them was largely complicated and time-consuming. Moving fax communications to a unified environment resulted in significant simplification and improved efficiency. Thanks to automatic inbound routing, faxes are sent directly to the recipient's device, reducing the risk of important faxes being lost or read by unauthorized persons compared to the previous system of manual processes. After the new solution was put into operation, all faxes that had previously been sent and received manually were migrated to the GFI FaxMaker platform, representing 1,200 incoming fax messages and 600 outgoing messages per quarter. Sales representatives can now conveniently manage faxes in the Microsoft Outlook environment. “As our company exports a significant proportion of its products abroad, we communicate extensively with business partners who, especially west of our borders, still trust fax messages more than emails,” said **Josef Podsedníček, systems engineer,** **PILANA Knives a.s. “**This is why we decided to modernize the original system of fax machines with a more efficient centralized fax server.
