The latest version includes a number of enhancements, such as multi-threaded anti-spam for better email throughput, 64-bit environment support, and support for **all current Exchange 2016, Windows 10 and Office 2016 platforms.** “Email is an indispensable business communication tool, and especially in small and medium-sized companies, its outages can mean significant disruption to business operations,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia**. “That is why having antivirus alone is not enough; comprehensive multi-layered security at the mail server level is needed to ensure continuity of business email communications. The new version of the proven GFI MailEssentials tool provides even more effective protection for users and simpler management for administrators.” Key innovations in GFI MailEssentials include: - **Multi-threaded anti-spam for better email throughput.** The advantage of the multi-threaded solution is support for significantly faster email throughput with lower resource consumption on multi-core servers. - **Full support for x64-bit environments.** Support for 64-bit environments enables more efficient processing of large email volumes. Back-end services that process quarantine, reports and message classification will benefit most from the transition. - **Remote Active Directory support.** GFI MailEssentials can now be installed outside the domain, such as on IIS SMTP or EDGE servers, with the ability to communicate with Active Directory even when it is not available locally. - **Support for scanning an existing database for Exchange 2013 (and later) using Exchange Web Services.** This feature enables Microsoft Exchange 2013 users (and later versions) to use database scanning to search for malware with the help of Exchange Web Services (EWS). - **Support for all current Exchange 2016, Windows 10 and Office 2016 platforms.** GFI supports Microsoft's latest technologies, and GFI MailEssentials is therefore delivered with full support for Exchange 2016, Windows 10 (client and server), as well as Office 2016.
