The findings are based on the company's April survey among Czech and Slovak IT professionals in the SMB segment. Corporate administrators have recently been facing several challenges: the number of endpoint devices is growing, IT infrastructure is expanding beyond the physical boundaries of organizations due to coronavirus measures, and IT administrators have increasingly less time and fewer resources to address security incidents. Companies are increasingly finding that antivirus software and firewalls are no longer sufficient, and are faced with the dilemma of which parts of their IT infrastructure to protect first and which later. The survey among Czech IT professionals revealed the following: - 79% of IT professionals in SMB organizations do not know the level of current email risks. - 46% cannot confirm that all critical patches are installed in their organization. - In 44% of companies, not all outdated device logins have been removed. - 15% of organizations do not have antivirus software installed on all devices. - 48% of professionals are unable to demonstrate a gradual improvement in the level of IT security in their organization. “During last year's pandemic, companies initially focused primarily on supporting remote workers through VPN networks,” said **Jozef Kačala, Sales Engineer for the EMEA region at GFI Software**. “With a year's hindsight, our current findings indicate that Czech and Slovak SMB organizations have many other gaps that threaten their IT security and business continuity.
