According to the survey, while 50% of Czech small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are most troubled by spam and viruses contained in business emails, they also have significant concerns about the rapidly growing volume of their mail, accidental deletion, and time-consuming searches for specific emails. Key findings of the local survey: - Czech SMBs are most commonly troubled in the area of business email by spam and viruses (50%), the rapidly growing volume of mail (41%), false positives (23%), accidental deletion (18%), and time-consuming searches (14%) - The most intensive email communication tends to occur on Monday (at 51% of companies) and Tuesday (23%), and less so on Friday (13%), Wednesday (9%), and Thursday (4%). - The main requirements for deploying an email archiving solution are preventing the loss of important emails (64%), addressing storage capacity (24%), compliance requirements (18%), and integration with Outlook (13%) “Email is now indispensable to the operation of every company – the use of other communication channels within a company, such as removable media and web access, can be temporarily restricted, but email communication cannot be stopped without immediate consequences for the business,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia**. “That is why comprehensive email protection is needed, both against attacks by hackers who use email channels to steal valuable corporate data and against the loss of important business emails.” It is therefore no longer possible to rely solely on antivirus scanning of messages as in the past; to eliminate all risks associated with corporate emails, a comprehensive strategy must now be applied.
