According to 80% of surveyed local IT administrators, the most effective protection for a corporate network when working from home is a **virtual private network (VPN)**. Although during the pandemic most businesses and organizations were able to cope with restrictions by expanding remote work and strengthening IT security, after it subsided, employees generally returned to offices. One of the reasons is the widespread belief that employees are more productive in the office than when working from home. However, the share of employees working from home is higher than before the pandemic, which means IT administrators must maintain a high level of security through a combination of technical tools and organizational measures. The most interesting findings include: - According to 21% of the IT administrators surveyed, all employees returned to offices; according to 61%, most did; according to 12%, half did; and according to 6%, most or all company employees remained working from home. - 53% of IT administrators believe that employees are more productive in the office, 11% believe they are more productive from home, and 36% see no difference in productivity. - Of the combination of tools used to secure working from home, 80% consider a VPN network the most effective, 63% cited two-factor authentication, and 55% cited comprehensive endpoint protection. 47% also mentioned regular IT security training for employees. “When the lockdown began in 2020, many office workers found themselves working from home, which most organizations addressed by strengthening the protection of their own networks,” said **Marie Baranová, sales manager for GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia at ZEBRA SYSTEMS.** “But employees returning to offices does not mean that organizations can ease up on protecting their networks.
