Thanks to the new solution, it has streamlined email communication and reduced operating costs. The Linka bezpečí organization handles a relatively intensive volume of communication; in 2017 alone, its staff received a total of 151,421 calls, its email counseling service received 2,827 inquiries, and 2,017 chats took place. Since its establishment, the organization had used an external provider to operate its email services, but it had long struggled with insufficient mailbox capacity. Due to the high costs the provider demanded for increasing data capacity and certain other issues with mail operation, the idea of operating its own mail server eventually emerged. “When selecting a suitable solution, the excellent experience we had already gained at that time from using the Kerio Control firewall played an important role,” said **Karina Holadová from Linka bezpečí**. “We therefore approached GFI Software and subsequently implemented the Kerio Connect mail server in our environment. Given that our services also include crisis email counseling for children, we place great emphasis on the smooth and secure operation of email services, which this product enables.” The aforementioned Kerio Control, in turn, provides Linka bezpečí staff with a convenient and secure way to work via a VPN network.
