According to the survey, the biggest challenge for Czech companies is unsecured access to data from mobile devices, particularly business, accounting and personal data. An increasing number of employees access corporate information outside their workplace – from home, at customers' premises, from cafés, at airports, etc. In more Czech companies, employees already use laptops for their work than desktop computers (83% versus 78%), and 39% actively use smartphones, thereby increasing the risks of attacks or loss of sensitive corporate data. In addition, they are troubled by the considerable lack of clarity and fragmentation of information, with different data located in different, often unsecured local and cloud storage repositories. Key survey findings: - In the area of data sharing and synchronization, Czech businesses most often address access from mobile devices (45%), fragmented information (41%), slow internet connections (34%) and a low level of data protection (28%). - Employees in companies use laptops (83%), desktop PCs/Macs (78%), smartphones (39%) and tablets (17%) for their work. - In the majority of cases, company users access business information from mobile devices (in 61% of companies), personal data (29%), accounting data (29%), maintenance and service data (27%) and marketing information (20%). “If companies do not control and manage their employees' access to important information, they will not only risk theft or loss of their data, but also, from 2018, fines for insufficient protection of personal data,” said **Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets**. “Stricter protection of sharing no longer automatically has to mean lower productivity or convenience for users.
