# URL Filtering

The URL filtering feature helps protect machines from threats such as malware or phishing. It blocks users from accessing websites that may contain malicious content. The URL filtering database also contains information about fraudulent and phishing URLs. Such websites are therefore automatically blocked by the system as soon as a user attempts to open them.

URL filtering also makes it possible to control web usage in compliance with external regulations and internal company policies.

URL filtering currently supports 44 website categories, enabling access to be managed.

URL Filtering – how it works:

- The user enters a URL link into the browser
- The interceptor obtains the link and sends it for protection
- The agent obtains the URL, analyzes it, and then checks the result
- The interceptor redirects the user to a message page and allows them to manually proceed to the requested page
