Acronis awards the best Czech and Slovak partners; grew by 44% in the local market in 2015

 In 2016, businesses will strengthen cloud backup, BYOD device security and data sharing

Prague, 19 January 2016 – Acronis, a global leader in next-generation data protection solutions, awarded its best partners at its annual meeting in Velké Bílovice, thanks to whom the company achieved 44% sales growth in the Czech and Slovak markets last year. For Czech and Slovak businesses, 2016 will primarily be a year of developing cloud backup, strengthening the protection of corporate networks against threats from BYOD devices, and secure access to corporate data.

Based on a survey conducted among its partners, Acronis estimates the following trends in the local market for this year:

• Although the vast majority of customers still prefer backup to local storage, 50% of them would consider switching to cloud backup if the price were comparable;
• For the overwhelming majority of companies, the main reason for acquiring a backup solution is previous experience with data loss;
• When using private devices for work purposes (BYOD), businesses are most concerned about data theft or leakage, followed by malware infection;
• In the area of mobile security, there is the greatest interest in data sharing and access solutions, backup and MDM solutions, while mobile antivirus solutions attract the least interest.

 

“According to IDC research, 70% of SMB companies do not have backup of their critical data in place, and those that do are reluctant to move it outside local storage,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets. “However, our partners are currently seeing a significant increase in demand for cloud storage, and we therefore expect rapid growth in cloud backup in 2016. Another area where we see great potential is solutions for sharing and accessing corporate documents, which help minimize potential threats arising from the use of BYOD devices.”
