Acronis announced strong growth in Acronis cloud solutions on the occasion of the company's 15th anniversary, as demand for cloud storage, backup and disaster recovery services is growing faster than expected. Year on year, the number of protected devices increased by 200% and the number of enterprise customers using Acronis cloud services increased by 151%. The volume of Acronis cloud storage used grew to a total of 39 petabytes.
Over the past year, Acronis acquired more than 2,000 new service providers, which now offer backup, disaster recovery and enterprise file sharing services using the Acronis Data Cloud platform. Thanks to commitment-free trial operation, single-pane installation, multi-layer architecture and native integration with PSA and RMM tools, Acronis is the most efficient data protection platform available to service providers.
Service providers can easily replace their original systems with Acronis with minimal effort and offer new functionality tailored to the specific needs of their customers. No initial investment is required, a flexible licensing model and various deployment options are available (Acronis hosting, hybrid, or service provider hosting), meaning that Acronis Data Cloud can be easily integrated into a service provider's existing infrastructure without disrupting the current service delivery model.
The new data protection services are readily available and scalable, while the Acronis Data Cloud platform enables service providers to expand their services into new markets and gain new revenue streams. At the same time, these services increase customer satisfaction and reduce customer churn.
Enterprise customers choose Acronis
Among businesses of all sizes, awareness of the importance of public cloud protection services is increasing, as is the number of companies using Acronis technologies to secure their data located in the public cloud. For example, the number of protected Microsoft Office 365 email mailboxes alone increased more than tenfold year on year.
Furthermore, many companies understand that in the event of a data breach, they may incur additional costs in the form of lost customer trust and legal expenses. Many of them therefore turn to Acronis technologies as a reliable and secure cloud storage service to keep their data safe. Even users of the on-premise version of the Acronis Backup solution are expressing increasing interest in cloud storage: 35% of them store additional copies of their backups in Acronis Cloud.
Acronis is present across all industries, particularly in the automotive, manufacturing and IT sectors, and its solutions are used by 79 of the 100 companies in the World’s 100 Most Valuable Brands ranking.
Technology partnerships
As a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection solutions, Acronis is widely recognized as a pioneer in data security technology. As the only technology that uses AI-based ransomware protection and blockchain-based data certification, Acronis is raising the quality of effective solutions to the level demanded by the market.
Further development includes technology partnerships concluded with a number of leading companies:
- Google Cloud. The ability to store data located in Google Cloud, which is currently integrated into individual Acronis solutions, significantly expands the number of cloud locations where Acronis partners and customers can store their data. This will provide greater freedom in data location and faster upload speeds.
- Microsoft Azure Cloud.Acronis data protection solutions already enable customers to use Azure cloud as backup storage. In future versions, the solutions will natively integrate the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, which will thus become one of the key components of the Acronis Data Cloud platform.
- System integrators. Acronis offers native integration with the most popular hosting automation platforms such as Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools, including Autotask, ConnectWise, cPanel, Plesk and Kaseya.
- Wiliams Martini Racing. One of the most iconic Formula 1 teams has chosen Acronis technology to protect its hybrid IT infrastructure. The team uses Acronis Data Cloud functionality to protect both local and cloud storage, centralize backup management and streamline backup processes.
- Sahara Force India.Another Formula 1 team uses backup, disaster recovery, software-defined storage, file sharing and synchronization, and ransomware defense technology to protect the team's IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing, testing (including wind tunnel data) and racing data. The cooperation also included renaming the team's control center located at its factory in Silverstone, UK, to the “Acronis Mission Control Centre,” evoking the high value of data and the importance of its protection in Formula 1.
“Our investment in hybrid cloud infrastructure is paying off very effectively, especially for our customers and service providers,” said John Zanni, President of Acronis.“We are able to dramatically increase their revenues and help them build successful businesses through the Acronis Data Cloud platform. We look forward to continued successful cooperation in the future.”
