Acronis has announced the release of version 8.0 of Acronis Cyber Cloud, a cyber protection platform for service providers. The platform, featuring more than 40 new capabilities, will be available in all 12 Acronis data centers in early November and will give service providers room for further growth. Providers will now also be able to use capabilities previously available only in the on-premise version of the company’s flagship product (Acronis Cyber Backup Advanced), enabling them to deliver modern cyber protection regardless of the size, complexity, or sophistication of customer infrastructures and environments.
The most anticipated capabilities include:
- Efficient group management, which enables significant scaling of service delivery and further reduces overall administrative costs
- New capabilities for disaster recovery services, which expand sales capabilities with easy onboarding of new customers and a feasibility testing phase
- Enhanced licensing and feature management for even easier upselling of advanced Disaster Recovery capabilities
“Traditional data protection is no longer sufficient for service providers that want to remain competitive, nor for the many small and large companies that rely on them,” said Sergej Beloussov, founder and CEO of Acronis. “With Acronis Cyber Cloud 8.0, cyber protection is easier, more effective, and more secure across all environments and infrastructures, with minimal errors.”
What is new in key services
Scalable group management of devices and backup plans offers great potential, especially for the key Acronis Cyber Backup Cloud service, which enables service providers to work with customers with large infrastructures.
Partners gain support for applications built on Oracle Database and for backup and recovery in SAP HANA environments, as well as support for clustered backups of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server.
Partners can also look forward to more than 25 additional innovations, including:
- Agentless application-aware backup of Hyper-V virtual machines, saving time required to install an agent
- Automatic notarization of backup archives for independent confirmation of the authenticity of important files
- New Startup Recovery Manager for recovering machines within minutes, even when the operating system has not yet been installed, without the need for separate rescue media or a network connection.
Acronis Disaster Recovery Cloud also improves security, compliance, and service delivery tools. Some features enable the use of encrypted backups to perform flawless, automated disaster recovery operations using securely stored passwords and disaster recovery operations for networks across multiple customers.
With cyber threats constantly evolving, Acronis is also continuously improving its data authentication capabilities. A key innovation of Acronis Notary Cloud will enable service providers to easily make data verification available through a new public page, eliminating the need to use the Acronis Notary Cloud user interface to verify files. All these innovations underscore Acronis’s intention to offer comprehensive cyber protection to both partners and customers, ensuring the safety, availability, privacy, authenticity, and security of their data. This gives Acronis a unique position to enable service providers and their customers to overcome current challenges, particularly the growing complexity of IT, security risks, and costs associated with these trends.
