Acronis has announced that it has formed a technology partnership with leading football team Arsenal Football Club, which will provide the English club with cyber protection for its growing IT infrastructure.
The partnership also entitles Acronis to carry out marketing activities for three years, including display on advertising LED panels during home matches in the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup, presence on backdrops during televised interviews, and access to Arsenal's first-team players to support the Acronis brand globally.
In elite sports, analysing one's own team and competing teams is more important today than ever before, especially in such a high-profile sport as football. Building a winning strategy also means recording and analysing countless actions, passes, contacts and goals – all factors are carefully studied before, during and after every match. Arsenal is one of the pioneers in using data to improve team performance and knows that this data is immensely valuable and must be protected.
This is why the partnership with Acronis was formed. As the official partner, Acronis will provide tools for effective and secure protection of all data, applications and systems within Arsenal's IT infrastructure, including Microsoft OneDrive and Office 365. Acronis will also provide secure storage for recordings of every first-team and academy training session at the training centre in Colney, amounting to 8 TB of data each year – the equivalent of recordings of 875 matches. As Arsenal FC's official backup platform, Acronis technology will help manage growing data volumes and ensure business continuity.
“At the highest level of competition, data makes the difference,” said John Zanni, President of Acronis. “Teams that understand the importance of information turn to Acronis to optimise the management of their data. Arsenal is a leader in the use of information, and we are proud to be its partner. Acronis technology is proving to be ideal for heavily used, highly competitive digital environments. We firmly believe that this partnership will benefit Arsenal, Acronis, and all our partners and customers.”
“We are delighted to welcome Acronis to our family of official partners,” said Vinai Venkatesham, Commercial Director of Arsenal Football Club. “Acronis is a global leader in data backup, and its advanced technology will ensure secure and reliable data management across the club. We look forward to working together and supporting Acronis in its business plans.”
