Solutions built on a new cloud architecture with a central management console will provide the most comprehensive data protection for end customers and service providers
Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection solutions, has announced new solutions that will give businesses and IT managers greater control over corporate data and platforms – including where they are backed up, stored, monitored and restored from. Without data, businesses cannot survive in today’s digital world, which is why it must be protected. Acronis is meeting the modern needs of businesses and their IT managers with an expanded suite of Acronis Backup 12, Acronis Backup Cloud, Acronis Monitor, Acronis Storage and Acronis Notary solutions, built on a new hybrid cloud infrastructure and supporting data protection and recovery in virtually every IT environment.
“Today, Acronis is introducing a new era of data protection by moving from complete device image protection to complete digital business image protection,” said Serguei Beloussov, founder and CEO of Acronis. “We are combining the world’s fastest backup solution with flexible storage options and non-stop monitoring to provide complete data protection for the needs of today’s always-online digital business.”
According to analyst firm IDC, data volumes are growing at a rate of 40–50% annually. During a normal working day, data can migrate from system to system, across different storage platforms, local and cloud storage. Traditional data protection methodologies are not well equipped to protect and recover data in motion, and customers are looking for products that provide these adequate protection tools. 1
“Ensuring that specific data of a given type and quality is sufficiently protected and available when needed is becoming an ever-greater challenge in today’s digital world,” said Phil Goodwin, research director at IDC. “Today’s hybrid cloud IT environment and the massive growth of cloud platforms are forcing IT managers to rethink older methodologies in order to maintain control over critical corporate data, while replacing existing business processes with new ones to ensure that critical data is genuinely protected and always available.”
New hybrid cloud architecture powers the next generation of data protection solutions
Acronis gives businesses the ability to take control over where their data is located by extending backup solutions with complete data protection in hybrid cloud IT environments. It enables companies and IT managers to store data anywhere and continuously monitor activity in order to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
Acronis solutions feature a unified web-based management console that makes it easier for IT managers to unify cloud and local data protection, with the ability to monitor and manage all data and environments, including on-premise and cloud environments, physical systems, virtual platforms and machines, and cloud environments – all available from a single user interface.
Acronis solutions can be deployed in the cloud, on-premise and in a hybrid configuration, protecting data across the entire business, whether in the cloud or cloud applications, at local sites, in virtual or physical systems, at remote locations or on mobile devices.
Newly introduced Acronis solutions and technologies include:
- Acronis Backup 12 – The fastest backup solution completely protects the entire business by backing up data in local systems, remote systems, private or public clouds and on mobile devices. The solution is available now.

Acronis will apply Blockchain technology to its solutions – the technology provides a record of digital events distributed among participants or entities, opening up a wide range of new data protection use cases for businesses worldwide. With Blockchain technology, data and transactions can only be updated based on consensus rules agreed upon by the interested participants in the system, and once new data is recorded, it can never be deleted. Acronis solutions using Blockchain technology will be available in October 2016.
Acronis customers can choose between a subscription pricing option or a perpetual license to protect any physical, virtual or cloud infrastructure.
For service providers and cloud resellers, Acronis offers a suite of multi-tier, multi-customer solutions with service automation and complete control over the delivery, billing, monitoring and management of delivered services, supporting up to millions of end users.
