Acronis stated that, according to a local survey conducted this year among partners from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, local businesses and organizations are most interested in cloud backup as part of cloud data protection. In addition to a higher level of security, local Acronis resellers also see cloud services as a major opportunity to streamline IT management for their customers.
The survey showed that the initial distrust of Czech and Slovak organizations toward placing corporate data outside their physical location is gradually disappearing. The main reason is successful cyberattacks on inadequately secured infrastructures of small and medium-sized businesses and the realization that cloud service providers can protect managed data much better. Secondly, businesses are addressing the chronic shortage of IT staff, which results in overloaded IT administrators having to manage an ever-increasing number of users, by moving part of their IT infrastructure to the cloud.
Based on the survey, the following data were identified:
- The greatest potential interest in cloud data protection is in backup (67% of organizations), corporate file sharing (33%), cloud storage (21%), and disaster recovery (13%). Only 8% of organizations are not interested in any cloud services.
- Local resellers see the greatest benefits of cloud services in a higher level of security (60% of respondents), managing multiple services from one place (45%), stable additional revenue (26%), and increased customer loyalty (14%).
- 69% of IT administrators (both internal and external) manage more than 50 users, while 26% manage more than 100 users.
“IT administrators are currently facing enormous pressure to increase productivity, resulting in an ever-growing number of managed corporate users,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets. “Cloud services today already provide tools that make it possible to deliver more services to many customers from one place, significantly increasing the efficiency of IT administration. At Acronis, all our products are therefore also available in cloud versions, for which we are now seeing higher demand growth than for traditional on-premise versions.”
