Acronis: Czech businesses place the greatest emphasis on confidence in data recovery, backup speed and backup size
Confidence in recovery is cited by 94% of respondents, highlighting the importance of testing the data recovery process
Prague, April 18, 2016 – Acronis, a global leader in next-generation data protection solutions, presented the results of its local survey conducted this year among Czech reseller partners. The survey shows that, in connection with backing up critical business data, the most important attribute of a backup solution for Czech businesses is confidence in data recovery. They most commonly address the backup of physical servers and virtualized VMware machines.
When Czech businesses look for solutions to back up their data, the most important factors for them are confidence in data recovery (94%), backup speed (58%) and backup size (35%). For 28%, the verification function is also important, while 24% consider virtual machine replication important. The results therefore highlight the importance of the data recovery process, whether for lost or inaccessible data, which is just as crucial as backup itself.
“It is important to realize that although backup is a key data protection process, without reliable recovery it would essentially lose its meaning,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of Acronis solutions in the Czech and Slovak markets. “That is why we always recommend that our customers test the recovery process themselves or ask their supplier to demonstrate a sample recovery using their data. This gives them confidence that they will recover potentially lost data, as well as an understanding of the entire process, including the time they would need to restore normal company operations.”
In terms of the infrastructure that companies back up and potentially recover, they most commonly address physical servers (38%), virtualized VMware machines (31%), workstations (21%) and virtualized Hyper-V machines (10%). Czech businesses are therefore increasingly looking for comprehensive backup solutions that can back up data from all types of devices in operation, whether locally, to the cloud or as part of hybrid backup.
