Acronis introduces the first True Image for Mac – a dual data protection solution for Apple® Mac® users

Acronis’ full-system disk imaging backup solution with dual protection is now available for both Windows® and Mac® computers.

Prague, July 30, 2014 – Acronis, a leading global provider of data protection and disaster recovery solutions, today announced the availability of Acronis® True Image for Mac® for distribution in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is the only comprehensive disk image-based system backup solution that offers dual protection for Mac computers. The new solution is the first of its kind to offer MacBook® users comprehensive protection even when they travel beyond the reach of their locally connected backup storage. With this new product, Acronis brings its proven data protection and recovery technology for individual users to the Apple® Mac® environment, expanding the reach of its secure and comprehensive next-generation data protection from Windows users to OS X® users.

Dual protection is an important tool that enables users to back up and recover their data both locally and to the Acronis cloud, giving them confidence that their data is protected and available anytime, anywhere. Unlike other solutions, Acronis True Image for Mac creates a complete copy of the entire system, applications, user data and settings, backed up both locally and online, ensuring efficient and reliable recovery in the event of a system problem, crash or hard drive failure.

Another exceptional feature of Acronis True Image for Mac is its ability to back up Parallels Desktop virtual machines and restore them in an active state, ensuring that users can restore the entire system to exactly the same state it was in, including all Windows applications, documents and settings.

“The new Acronis True Image for Mac brings a new level of support and data protection to Parallels Desktop 9 users running Windows environments on Mac,” said Birger Steen, CEO of Parallels.

“With 51% of households in the USA using Mac operating systems, we have strived to make our market-leading Windows PC solution available to Apple users. We are therefore very pleased to announce its launch today,” said Nat Maple, Vice President at Acronis. “With Acronis True Image for Mac, we have made Acronis the de facto leading provider of full-system disk image-based backup with dual protection for Apple Mac users.”
