Since the beginning of August, a new backup service, Digital Guardian, has been available on the Czech market, offering all interested parties easy and affordable backup of personal or work data. The platform is built on technology from Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection.

Digital Guardian is a service that enables end customers to download an Acronis Backup license and easily set up backup as a service. Simply register, pay by card, and within a few minutes the user can back up to the cloud. A free one-month trial period is, of course, included. The service is intended for end users, both individuals and businesses, with prices starting at CZK 150/month.

As part of the service, customers receive a backup software license and 30 GB of cloud storage for a personal computer, or 100 GB for a physical server, with the option to purchase additional space. Data is stored on Digital Guardian storage facilities located in the data center of Czech Radiocommunications. A local backup option is also available, allowing an unlimited amount of data to be backed up to the customer's own storage and thus making full use of the purchased license.

The platform also provides a major opportunity for partner sales – partners can register themselves and offer tailored backup services to their customers under their own brand. Not only do they receive a commission on sold licenses, but it also enables them to offer additional services such as management, data recovery, and more. Maximum emphasis is placed on automating the entire process of purchasing, configuring, and deploying backup services.

“Our service is intended for the broadest segment of the market, which until now has not addressed systematic data protection due to the lack of affordable backup offers that could be configured even by ordinary users such as students, mothers on maternity leave, seniors, entrepreneurs, and others,” said Vojtěch Levý, Director of Digitální strážce s.r.o. “Today, these users also face disk failures, computer malfunctions, theft, accidental deletion, and malicious cyberattacks that result in the loss of important personal or work data.”

The Digital Guardian service is operated by Digitální strážce s.r.o., while the technology infrastructure is provided by LaConex, an authorized Acronis partner in the Czech Republic.  More information about the service, including a trial option, can be found at https://www.digitalnistrazce.cz.
