New functionality enables more efficient vulnerability scanning in distributed IT environments
PRAGUE, October 23, 2023 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, has introduced GFI LanGuard WAN Agent, functionality enabling remote vulnerability scanning for customers. Following the recent launch of GFI LanGuard in an MSP version, this represents another expansion of the ways this proven security tool can be used.
WAN Agent addresses the need to scan remote users without requiring a VPN network. The functionality gives customers the ability to identify and resolve vulnerabilities across a distributed architecture from a centralized interface. WAN Agent has only minimal resource requirements, ensuring flexible process optimization in vulnerability assessment and patch management strategy. GFI LanGuard WAN Agent is currently available as a public beta.
“GFI LanGuard WAN Agent significantly simplifies and streamlines vulnerability scanning in distributed environments,” said Jozef Kačala, Vice President of Global Sales Engineering at GFI Software. “It is installed on every remote computer that needs to be scanned and updated using the GFI LanGuard console. The WAN Agent and console communicate securely through the AWS platform to send and receive scanning and patching commands. The agent is currently publicly available for beta testing.”
GFI LanGuard is a solution offering a wide range of security features, including vulnerability assessment, identification of missing updates, installation of required patches, software and hardware auditing, and comprehensive cybersecurity auditing. Its MSP version enables MSP providers to deliver corporate network scanning services to customers under a “Pay-Per-Scan” model, meaning payment for individual scans, without those customers having to purchase the entire solution.
