Recent supply chain attacks are increasing demands on IT solution and service providers
PRAGUE, August 25, 2022 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, stated that more and more IT solution and service providers are considering ISO 27001 certification, a recognized standard for information security management. Based on a survey among its local partners, GFI also found that support for ISO 27001 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is lower than across the EMEA region as a whole, with only 14% having or planning to obtain this standard.
Responses from participants in the GFI Software survey showed that:
- Across the EMEA region, 11% of respondents have implemented ISO 27001, 12% are planning it, and 23% are considering it,
- In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, only 8% have this standard, while 6% are planning it and 22% are considering it,
- By contrast, in the DACH region (German-speaking countries), only 5% of respondents reported having it, although 27% are planning it and 19% are considering it.
“ISO 27001 certification brings a range of interesting benefits, including a higher level of IT security, a better reputation among business partners, and meeting requirements in tenders,” said Jozef Kačala, Vice President of Global Sales Engineering at GFI Software. “And the increased demands of customers and partners in response to recent supply chain attacks are probably one of the important motivations why IT providers have increased their interest in certification.”
The ISO 27001 standard defines how organizations should manage risks associated with information security threats at the level of people, processes, and technology. It was created due to concerns about the growing number of incidents such as data theft, identity theft, data encryption, cyberattacks, and similar threats. Today, it represents the gold standard, providing generally recognized procedures and best practices in information security management.
GFI Software offers those interested in ISO 27001 certification not only consulting services, but also the Kerio Control and GFI LanGuard solutions, which cover most of the domains required to meet certification requirements. For example, Kerio Control provides powerful tools for incident management, communication security, and access control. GFI LanGuard excels in operational security, regulatory compliance, and incident management.
