Kerio Control free for 3 months to support remote work as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic

PRAGUE, April 6, 2020 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, reported that VPN usage is surging in response to working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  To help companies and organizations get through the current challenging period and ensure the highest possible level of network security, it is now offering its Kerio Control solution with full functionality, including VPN support, completely free for 3 months.

According to findings by Statista, between March 8 and 22, there was a significant increase in data traffic through VPN networks worldwide, especially in countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic. For example, Italy recorded a 160% increase in VPN usage, while in the United States the increase was 124%. In other countries, VPN traffic growth ranged from 10–60%, depending on the situation in each country – the more severe the impact of the pandemic, the higher the VPN usage rate usually was.

The Kerio Control solution, used by more than 25,000 customers worldwide, provides strong protection for corporate networks against cyber threats using a firewall, antivirus and antimalware protection, web connection filtering, and virtual private networks (VPNs). By creating a VPN network with Kerio Control, remote workers can work on the corporate network just as if they were physically in the office – including secure access to corporate data and files. The current free offer applies to the software version of Kerio Control and is valid until June 30, 2020.

“In the current unprecedented situation, many companies have to rely on employees working from home offices, but they are not fully prepared in terms of security or the scale of such remote access,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “We want to enable these organizations to quickly adapt to the new circumstances and achieve the necessary business performance as soon as possible. Setting up a VPN network with Kerio Control takes less than 15 minutes for the IT administrator and no more than 2 minutes for the remote worker.”

The Kerio Control solution can also be activated at no additional cost under the GFI Unlimited licensing program. GFI Unlimited customers can then combine the solution with other applications such as:

  • Kerio Connect with XMPP chat support for communication between employees, which would otherwise be limited due to working from home;
  • GFI MailEssentials with up to 5 antivirus engines and preventive protection against malware in emails, which could otherwise make working from home impossible;
  • GFI Archiver to reduce mail server load, free up space, and prevent data loss;

Information about the offer, including the option to download Kerio Control free of charge for three months, is available at https://www.zebra.cz/proc-potrebuji-vpn-virtualni-privatni-sit/
