Public and charitable organizations supported by GFI Software

17% of all cyberattacks target educational and non-profit organizations

PRAGUE, August 15, 2017 – GFI Software announced that an increasing number of public and charitable organizations are using GFI and Kerio solutions to protect communications and corporate networks in the public sector. The reason is the complex IT security situation and increasing demands for data protection through regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR) – according to the latest analyses, 10% of all cyberattacks currently target educational organizations and 7% target non-profit organizations.

GFI Software has a wide range of references in the Czech public sector, including the Hradec Králové State Research Library, Customs Administration of the Czech Republic and OLÚ Jevíčko; among charitable organizations, these include Centrum Paraple, the Naše dítě Foundation, and the Society for Supporting People with Intellectual Disabilities, among others. These customers particularly appreciate the easy installation and management, intuitive operation, and reliable data protection provided by GFI Software and Kerio solutions.

“Non-profit sector organizations in particular usually have very limited IT budgets, which results in increased security risks for them,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “We therefore consider it our commitment to support various charitable projects, including by providing licenses under highly favorable terms.”

In addition to supplying IT security solutions, GFI Software also helps non-profit projects through direct financial support. A recent example is the auction of a jersey from last year’s winning tennis Fed Cup final for the charitable Sport Hradec Cup tournament (see image), which helped raise a record total of CZK 720,000, distributed among six families with children with disabilities.
