Acronis announced that KLIA, a wholesale distributor and retailer of flowers and related products, implemented and successfully deployed Acronis Backup 12.5, an enterprise backup solution. The solution significantly accelerated backup and recovery processes, while integrated ransomware protection safeguards against the loss of important data.
One of the main benefits of the deployment at KLIA is lightning-fast backup, making it possible to perform incremental backups every hour and a full server backup once a day. This ensures that in the event of an outage, the company loses virtually no data and maximum business continuity is maintained. Thanks to full disk image backup technology, the process of a potential full data recovery was reduced from days to hours.
“We are extremely satisfied with the functionality of the Acronis Backup 12.5 solution, both with the regular backup process and with the responsiveness of the Acronis support center,” said Lukáš Vilč, IT technician at KLIA. “The solution enabled us to significantly accelerate backup and recovery processes, thereby reducing the duration of a potential outage to a minimum, which is particularly important in our industry.”
The company had previously also used backup functionality within its enterprise system; however, both the backup and recovery processes using this backup functionality were lengthy, and, for example, a complete recovery and restoration of a server attacked by ransomware took two days. The reason was that the system could back up only selected files, and in the event of recovery, it was necessary to first reinstall the server system and carry out a large number of configurations, which considerably prolonged the recovery process. Now, a full recovery would take a maximum of 2 hours, and the data is additionally protected by the Active Protection functionality integrated into Acronis Backup, which can eliminate a potential ransomware attack at its very outset.
