Acronis announced that MECOM GROUP, a leading meat processor in Central Europe, will use Acronis Files Advanced for efficient and secure access to corporate documents. The company will also deploy Acronis Backup to back up corporate servers and workstations. The systems were supplied by Nové technológie a služby (NTS), a certified Acronis partner in the Slovak market.
MECOM expects that Acronis File Advanced will enable fast and convenient sharing of documents and other outputs across different platforms while securing data on its own infrastructure. The solution will enable access to files stored in various systems from more than 200 laptops used by employees on the road, with multi-user access, editing, versioning, etc. Access from smartphones and tablets will also be available, particularly for sales representatives who need to share CRM information and for drivers delivering goods.
The IT department at MECOM GROUP manages all of the company's operational data located in the ERP system across 7 processing facilities in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. It also supports a large number of sales representatives across all three countries who need to share information within the ERP system and, in particular, Excel outputs, Word documents, images and other files.
“We are particularly looking forward to the new possibilities for online access to information from mobile devices, which will make the work of our field staff more efficient,” said Maroš Habušta, head of the IT department at MECOM Group. “We expect Acronis Files Advanced to fully replace the platform currently used for sharing and accessing corporate documents.”
The company currently shares its files using various tools such as Kerio Workspace and partly with the help of the IceWarp mail server; previously, it used the Novell network solution. However, in connection with the transition of the Workspace product to the cloud, MECOM GROUP decided to find a new solution that would enable documents to be shared on its own IT infrastructure. Given these requirements and the available functionality, the company decided to install Acronis Files Advanced.
Acronis Files Advanced is a simple, comprehensive and secure enterprise file-sharing solution that increases user productivity and gives the IT department complete control over all corporate content, ensuring security, regulatory compliance and enabling BYOD. Employees can use any device for secure access to data and for synchronizing and sharing files with other employees, customers, business partners or suppliers.
