Prague – August 21, 2019   – Acronis, a global provider of cyber protection solutions, today announced Acronis True Image 2020, a new version of its personal cyber protection product. The new version enables users to automatically replicate local backups to the cloud, making it the first solution to automate the 3-2-1 backup rule recommended by most experts.

However, the Dual Protection replication feature is only one of more than one hundred innovations and enhancements built into Acronis True Image 2020 software, which are aimed at further improving performance, usability and security.

“Given how much we rely on data today, our digital assets have never been more important. This also means that we are using an ever-growing amount of data and devices. Protecting them from growing cyber threats presents new challenges – including increasing complexity, more sophisticated security and rising costs,” said Sergej Beloussov, founder and CEO of Acronis. “Through easy, efficient and secure cyber protection, Acronis gives users the confidence that they will not lose their important data.”

Acronis True Image 2020 is a version that brings to life the vision of cyber protection, combining traditional data protection  and cybersecurity in one solution. The result of this approach is that the current product is the only personal solution that ensures all five vectors of cyber protection – safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity and security of data (SAPAS). This means that Acronis True Image 2020 provides easy, efficient and secure cyber protection for home users, consumers and small offices.

Easy, reliable backup

As a recognized innovator in its industry, Acronis can boast several firsts in the field of data protection. It was the first to offer home users full disk image backup and the ability to clone a system disk – for both PC and Mac – while running. In addition, it remains the only personal backup solution that includes AI-powered anti-malware protection and blockchain-based data authenticity certification. The current introduction of automated replication of local backups to the cloud is the company’s latest contribution to key innovations.

In addition, Acronis True Image 2020 makes it easier for users to keep their data, applications and systems secure. While independent agencies have previously demonstrated that Acronis True Image is up to 10x faster than other competing solutions, the 2020 version introduces a new backup format that guarantees higher performance, including faster backup and data recovery. It also allows users to search for files in cloud backups even faster.

The new Notification Center provides up-to-date backup status information, enabling quick resolution of any issues, and sends news to improve cyber protection. The company’s emphasis on backup reliability results in satisfied customers who recommend Acronis True Image to other users.

Better control over backups

In addition to improved backup technology itself, Acronis True Image 2020 gives users the ability to secure their data regardless of where it is located. The new version lets users choose which Wi-Fi networks are allowed to run backups, making it possible to avoid paid connections or unsecured public networks that could expose data to risk.

Users also want to ensure that their backup processes have as little impact as possible on the operation of their computers, typically by draining laptop batteries more quickly. With Acronis True Image 2020, users have control over running backups on battery power – they can disable backups altogether or set a minimum battery charge level; for example, if it drops below 40%, the backup will not start.

More resilient against cyber threats

Over the past three years, Acronis True Image has become the only personal backup solution with integrated AI-powered anti-malware protection. The technology, called Acronis Active Protection, can stop ransomware and cryptojacking attacks in real time while automatically recovering affected files.

Rather than scanning for known malware patterns, this technology monitors the system and looks for behavior indicating attacks. As a result of this approach, the technology is extremely effective at detecting and defending against any attack, including previously unidentified ransomware variants. In practice, Acronis Active Protection stopped 400,000 ransomware attacks last year alone.

Despite its high effectiveness, Acronis has further enhanced this AI-powered protection in Acronis True Image 2020. The new version includes updated machine learning models that further increase the effectiveness of defense against cyber threats of all kinds.

Pricing and availability

Three editions of Acronis True Image 2020 are available:

  • Standard is a perpetual license for customers with local backups only, without the need for cloud backup. It includes the option of local backup for an unlimited number of mobile devices. Pricing starts at CZK 1,321 for one computer.
  • Advanced is a one-year subscription with 250 GB of space in Acronis Cloud Storage and access to all cloud features. It includes the option of both local and cloud backup for an unlimited number of mobile devices. Pricing starts at CZK 1,321 for 1 computer.
  • Premium is a one-year subscription including blockchain authentication and electronic signature capability, with 1 TB of cloud storage. Pricing starts at CZK 2,644 for 1 computer.
