The solution meets all the latest data protection requirements and regulations
PRAGUE, July 16, 2018– GFI Software, a provider of business network security solutions, announced that the Prague-Petrovice Municipal District will use the Kerio Connect solution to replace its original outdated solution, enhance the security of its email, and improve user comfort. The solution was supplied by Gaia Connections, a GFI Software partner in the Czech market.
The main advantages of the selected Kerio Connect solution are easy migration from the existing solution to new hardware, support for the latest client devices, easy administration, and excellent protection against spam and viruses. Users can securely access their accounts from any device (PC, tablet, smartphone) and platform, including Windows, Android, and iOS.
The existing software solution at the Prague-Petrovice Municipal District, which was based on a no-longer-supported competing product, needed to be replaced quickly, primarily due to problematic backups and insufficient functionality of the anti-spam and antivirus solution. This solution not only inadequately protected users but also placed a considerable load on the hardware, slowing down employees' work.
“Given the current situation in cybersecurity and the growing requirements for the protection of sensitive data, we needed to increase the level of security while modernizing the hardware infrastructure,” said JUDr. Olga Hromasová, Mayor of the Prague-Petrovice Municipal District. “Based on market research and a comparison of available solutions for organizations of our nature, we acquired the Kerio Connect solution through Gaia Connections, from which we expect trouble-free operation, greater user comfort, and increased mobility for municipal office staff.”
Kerio Connect is messaging and collaboration software that meets the needs of small and medium-sized organizations and offers a wide range of features. It provides both a mail server solution and its own email client. In addition, it allows users to use other popular email clients and provides easy access to email through an intuitive web interface. It will be used by 15 users in the Prague-Petrovice Municipal District.
The Prague-Petrovice Municipal District is one of Prague’s 57 municipal districts, providing public services to approximately 6,000 residents. The organizational structure of the municipal district includes the district assembly, the district council, the mayor’s office, the municipal office, and a library with an information center. Municipal office staff provide support to self-government bodies and carry out state administration to the extent entrusted to the municipal district by the Statute of the City of Prague, particularly in the areas of resident registration, document legalization, and certification.
