Thanks to practical exercises with the GFI solution, students at SŠEE Sokolnice gain important professional knowledge
PRAGUE, August 24, 2023 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, announced that the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Energy (SŠEE) Sokolnice uses GFI Kerio Control to teach its students. The opportunity to get hands-on experience with Kerio Control devices during practical exercises gives students important knowledge for a potential career as computer network administrators.
Kerio Control in the form of an NG510 hardware appliance gives SŠEE Sokolnice students the opportunity to learn, for example, how to connect a Windows server to a domain via LDAP, two-factor authentication through a phone app for connecting to the corporate network, creating rules, configuring harmful website filtering, virtual networks (VLANs), and other skills essential for the work of a network administrator.
A major advantage of the product for students is its simple user interface, which enables them to quickly understand how to work with Kerio Control and easily configure the required parameters. When they then join an organization that uses Kerio Control technology, they can quickly find their bearings and adapt to the new working environment.
“Our graduates have a major advantage in that, in addition to IT knowledge, they leave school as electrical engineering technicians, so they are qualified not only to manage computer networks but also, for example, to connect servers, UPS equipment, and other installations subject to the regulation on working with electrical equipment,” said Jan Žerávek, vocational training teacher at SŠEE Sokolnice. “Moreover, if they gain practical experience with sophisticated tools for network management and security, such as Kerio Control, they can be a great asset to their employers from the very beginning of their employment.”
