The Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Energy (SŠEE) Sokolnice in the Brno-venkov district is a traditional electrical engineering school where electrical engineers and energy specialists are educated. One of the fields taught at this vocational school is information technology, which prepares graduates for the role of computer network administrator in companies or organizations. The curriculum includes practical training days in information technology laboratories, where students learn about the operation of modern tools within corporate IT infrastructures, including servers, routers, internet connectivity, security tools, and other typical elements of an enterprise network.
For teaching, the school uses IT products from a wide range of brands, allowing students to try out their setup and operation during practical exercises. The curriculum also includes internships at companies, where students can verify their acquired knowledge in a real-world environment. One of the technologies used to prepare future “IT professionals” is the GFI KerioControl device for securing computer networks.
