ZEBRA SYSTEMS, a distributor of N-able solutions on the Czech and Slovak markets, stated that the continued work of employees from home places ever-increasing demands on IT administrators and MSP providers. They must therefore adapt and expand their services with IT security tools, particularly in the area of endpoint protection.

Endpoints today no longer include only work PCs or laptops; private PCs, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches and even IoT devices are also connecting to corporate networks. If endpoints are not adequately protected, organizational networks are exposed to attack threats resulting from unpatched software, infected emails, home networks secured with weak passwords, or malware downloaded from suspicious websites.

In addition to remote management and monitoring capabilities, the current situation requires expanding the MSP portfolio to include endpoint protection services using the following tools:

  • Endpoint detection and response (EDR). EDR solutions enable endpoint monitoring while providing an overview of potential issues and threats in real time.
  • Centrally managed antivirus. An antivirus solution with centralized management makes it possible to conveniently protect users' devices from a single console. It does not provide as comprehensive protection as EDR, but is sufficient to protect employees with lower security risks.
  • Password management. In the event of an attempted unauthorized access, secure password management is the first line of defense. Strong, unique and securely stored passwords are now a fundamental prerequisite for successfully protecting corporate networks.
  • Email protection. Since most attacks today are conducted through email, weak email security can lead to serious problems for the entire corporate network. Therefore, emails at endpoints must be filtered for spam, phishing, spoofing and social engineering.

“Nothing indicates that the share of working from home will return to pre-pandemic levels, and so MSP service providers face the demanding task of protecting not only their customers' networks, but also the endpoints of their remote workers,” said Ondřej Šabata, Sales Engineer for N-able solutions at ZEBRA SYSTEMS. “Products such as N-able EDR, N-able Mail Assure and N-able Passportal make it possible to create centralized and flexible cybersecurity services that meet key requirements for protecting customers' endpoint devices.”
