API

An application programming interface (API) is a set of functions used for programming applications and software in many areas. It primarily ensures communication and data exchange between two interconnected applications.

An API interface enables a particular product or service to communicate with other products and services without needing to know how they are implemented. This can significantly simplify application development and thus save time and money. When designing new or existing tools or products, APIs primarily offer flexibility, simplicity, management, and also provide opportunities for innovation.

An API is a simplified way to connect your own infrastructure through cloud applications or to enable data sharing with customers themselves.

Acronis Cyber Cloud API

Versions:

  • APIv.1 was available in Acronis Backup Cloud 7.0 and earlier versions
  • APIv.2 was introduced in Acronis Backup Cloud 7.5
  • Acronis Backup Cloud 7.5 and later support both APIv.1 and APIv.2

Documentation
API documentation is available through the RAML console.

Opening the documentation:

  1. Sign in to your partner account.
  2. Copy the URL address containing the data center name (for example, https://eu-cloud.acronis.com) and add:
    • for APIv.1: https: // <your data center> .acronis.com / api / 1 / doc /
    • for APIv.2: https: // <your data center> .acronis.com / api / 2 / doc /

Documentation for APIv.1 is also available on the Settings -> Integration -> API tab

Functionality

  • 1 provides only the features available in version 7.0 and earlier. For example, backup quotas are available, while file synchronization and shared quotas are not available because these are new features introduced in version 7.5.
  • 2 extends APIv.1 with multi-service management features. In future versions, it will be expanded to fully replace 1.0. Both versions are currently used (for example, use APIv.1 to sign in using the API, then you can use both versions).
