PRAGUE, January 11, 2023 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, announced that it has added 118 new application signatures to the newly released version 7.5.3 of its GFI Exinda NetworkOrchestrator solution. The Exinda solution can now recognize more than 2,000 existing applications and protocols, whose performance it can optimize through network traffic management.
The new version has also strengthened encryption to increase the protection of deployed GFI Exinda solutions against potential attacks. When establishing a secure connection, GFI Exinda NetworkOrchestrator relies on encryption algorithms, and the newly added protection eliminates vulnerabilities, thereby minimizing the risks of possible man-in-the-middle attacks or passive eavesdropping.
Over the past year, the number of software applications detectable by the GFI Exinda solution has nearly doubled. This responds to the current application boom, which, in addition to increasing the number of applications used, also raises demands on the use of corporate internet connectivity. More and more critical business applications depend on reliable access to a high-quality internet connection, but unless application usage priorities are established, enormous bandwidth demands can disrupt business operations.
According to a recent survey by GFI Software, the number of organizations experiencing chronic issues with business applications due to inefficient network traffic management is growing. This is caused by the increasing number of applications used, with more than half of respondents stating that their organization relies on more than 10 applications. Thirty-five percent of organizations experience issues on a daily basis, and only 19% already prioritize their applications in some way with the help of a solution such as GFI Exinda NetworkOrchestrator.
