WAN Agent simplifies and streamlines vulnerability scanning in distributed environments

PRAGUE, October 15, 2024 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, announced the availability of GFI LanGuard WAN Agent, a feature enabling remote vulnerability scanning at customer sites. Following the recent launch of a beta trial version, WAN Agent is now available to all organizations and IT providers, enabling them to streamline vulnerability scanning at remote locations as well.

The GFI LanGuard WAN Agent tool provides complete protection for all devices in distributed environments, regardless of their location. WAN Agent is an advanced security solution that enables IT security providers to offer top-tier services to their clients while expanding their service portfolio and increasing revenue.

WAN Agent addresses the need to scan remote devices without requiring a VPN network. The feature gives customers the ability to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across a distributed architecture from a centralized interface. WAN Agent has only minimal resource requirements, ensuring flexible optimization of vulnerability assessment processes and patch management strategy. GFI LanGuard WAN Agent is currently available immediately with full functionality.

“GFI LanGuard WAN Agent enables vulnerability management for devices that are often outside the corporate network, for example due to working from home or business travel,” said Ondřej Šabata, Sales Engineer for GFI Software solutions at ZEBRA SYSTEMS. “It is installed on each remote computer that needs to be scanned and updated using the GFI LanGuard console. The WAN Agent and console communicate securely via the AWS platform to send and receive scanning and patching commands.”

GFI LanGuard is a solution with a wide range of security features, including vulnerability assessment, identification of missing updates, installation of required patches, software and hardware auditing, and overall cybersecurity auditing. Its MSP version enables MSP providers to deliver corporate network scanning services to customers in a “Pay-Per-Scan” model, meaning payment for individual scans, without customers having to purchase the entire solution.
