Costs, functionality and integration options are the main advantages of VoIP systems
PRAGUE, 28 November 2017 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, has published the results of a survey among partners of Kerio solutions conducted in September 2017. The results show that mobile phones are the most widely used telephone platform in Czech SMB companies, and together with VoIP telephony they are rapidly displacing traditional telephone lines from businesses. The main reasons for deploying IP phones are more favourable operating costs, richer functionality and integration options with corporate IT infrastructure.
Telephone calls are the second most widely used channel for business communication after email, as they are an irreplaceable communication alternative in many areas, such as customer relationship management. SMB companies today prefer VoIP PBX systems, which can be easily connected with CRM and other systems and provide advanced features such as call routing, recording and logging, conference calls, sending voice messages to email, or integration with iOS or Android mobile phones.
Key survey findings:
- The greatest current demand among customers of Kerio products is for communication solutions (72%)
- For business communication, they most often use email (100%), telephone calls (58%) and in-person meetings (21%), while chat and social networks are used only minimally
- Telephone infrastructure used for business calls includes mobile phones (at 95% of companies), desk phones (47%), IP phones (39%) and Skype (5%)
“As they say, one phone call is worth ten emails, and the business of a large proportion of SMB companies depends on making calls,” said Zdeněk Bínek, responsible for sales of GFI Software solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “Modern VoIP telephone systems eliminate the boundary between the IT and communications worlds, and more efficient voice communication together with the ability to make calls from anywhere at minimal operating costs is why traditional phones are rapidly disappearing from our desks – either completely or being replaced by IP phones.”
In the telephony segment, GFI Software offers Kerio Operator, a VoIP protocol-based PBX system that provides powerful yet affordable voice and video communication features suitable for small and medium-sized businesses. Kerio Operator uses the existing computer network and the standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
