A survey conducted in cooperation with ZEBR.AI has confirmed the growing role of artificial intelligence across a wide range of business processes
PRAGUE, 29 October 2026 – GFI Software, a provider of enterprise network security solutions, said that artificial intelligence is becoming a routine part of IT professionals’ working day. According to a recent survey by ZEBR.AI, the exclusive distributor of GFI products in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, at least 89% of the IT professionals surveyed use generative AI tools at least several times a week. The survey was carried out as part of the October series of the ZEBR.AI Cyber Roadshow 2026 conferences in Prague, Ostrava, Bratislava and Košice.
Most often, AI helps IT professionals with searching for information, but it is also playing an increasingly important role in cybersecurity and business process automation. Although most of them see AI primarily as a useful helper, its development at the same time stirs up caution, uncertainty and concern about
possible risks.
The most interesting findings of the survey:
· Almost nine out of ten respondents use AI at least several times a week. Daily use of AI was confirmed by 60.3% of respondents, and a further 28.6% work with it several times a week. 7.9% of respondents use AI several times a month, 2.4% less often, and only 1% said they never use it.
· AI does not account for the majority of work activities. Almost half of respondents (49.2%) estimate that they use AI in less than a quarter of their work. A further 28.8% involve it in 25 to 50% of their work activities. Conversely, 9.1% of respondents use AI for 50 to 75% of their work and 12.1% even for three quarters or more of their work activities.
· From information search to automation and cybersecurity. The most common use of generative AI remains information search, cited by 92.5% of respondents. Its use in more specialized areas is also interesting. In total, 47% of respondents use AI to improve cybersecurity and 44.8% to automate business processes. A further 27.6% of respondents use AI to analyze and explore business opportunities and 25.4% to generate marketing content.
· A helper or a threat? AI inspires both awe and caution. An interesting perspective came from an open-ended question about what emotions AI evokes in participants. The most common spontaneous associations were help or helper, followed by fear or concern, the future, speed, and efficiency or productivity. In the thematic evaluation of the answers, practical help and easier work appeared among 38% of respondents. Fear, threats and dystopian visions were mentioned by 27% of participants, while efficiency, speed and automation were cited by 24% of respondents. Awe, joy and curiosity appeared among 21% of respondents, as did the future and new possibilities.
It is clear that AI is no longer just a tool for writing texts or quickly looking up answers. Increasingly, it is also finding use in areas where it can contribute to automating routine tasks, supporting decision-making and strengthening the security of IT environments. IT professionals’ attitude toward AI is rather mildly positive: participants appreciate above all its ability to help, speed up work and open up new possibilities.
“The survey showed that our partners already use AI, but their customers not yet as much – at least judging by the partners’ responses,” said Marek Prorok, AI and VR solutions specialist at ZEBR.AI. “This is exactly where we see a big business opportunity. Partners already know what works and how it helps them, and now we need to show customers what AI can do for them: where it will save them time, make their work easier or reduce costs. Our appeal to partners is simple: start from your own experience, offer customers concrete solutions and help them get started, or turn their existing AI experiments into real value.”
